Female Chiropractor Singapore Dr Jenny Li, 15+ Years’ Experience

Female Chiropractor Singapore: Meet Dr Jenny Li

female chiropractor singapore

Some women simply feel more comfortable discussing pain, pregnancy, postnatal changes or sensitive health concerns with another woman. Others prefer a female practitioner because of cultural or religious considerations, or because they feel more at ease during a hands-on examination.

I understand that comfort matters. But I also believe that choosing a chiropractor should involve more than gender alone.

I am Dr Jenny Li, an American-trained Doctor of Chiropractic ( not a medical doctor) with more than 15 years of clinical experience. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the United States and have practised in Hong Kong and Singapore. At Re: Chiropractic Singapore, I assess each patient individually and explain honestly whether chiropractic care may be suitable, whether another form of care should be considered, or whether medical referral is needed.

I consult in both English and Mandarin at our clinic near Lavender MRT.

Female Chiropractor Price at Re:Chiropractic Singapore

We believe patients should have a clear idea of the possible cost before making an appointment. The final price depends on what is clinically appropriate and which services are provided.

First Visit
SGD 90–180
Follow-Up Visit
SGD 88–120
X-ray (if clinically relevant)
SGD 45–250

An X-ray is not automatically required. I recommend imaging only when the history or examination findings suggest that it may provide useful clinical information. When imaging is needed, the cost can vary according to the number and type of views requested.

Why Do Some Women Prefer a Female Chiropractor?

Over the years, women have given me many different reasons for choosing a female chiropractor singapore. Some feel more comfortable describing symptoms involving the pelvis, pregnancy or recovery after childbirth. Some are more relaxed when discussing changes in their body. Others simply prefer a female practitioner for a physical examination or hands-on treatment.

Common reasons may include:

  • Feeling more at ease discussing sensitive or personal concerns
  • Greater comfort with physical contact, treatment positions or clothing adjustments
  • Cultural or religious preferences
  • Wanting support from someone with lived experience of motherhood and the physical demands placed on women
  • Preferring a communication style that feels right for them

These preferences are valid, but I do not believe a female chiropractor is automatically more caring, more skilled or clinically superior to a male chiropractor. The practitioner’s education, experience, clinical judgement and willingness to listen are more important than gender alone.

The right chiropractor should also be prepared to tell you when chiropractic care is not the right choice.

Chiropractic Care for Women at Different Life Stages

A woman’s physical demands can change considerably throughout life. The assessment for a young athlete may be very different from the assessment for an office worker, a pregnant woman, a mother lifting a toddler, or someone who wants to remain strong and mobile through perimenopause and beyond.

Working women and prolonged desk work

Long hours at a computer, repeated phone use, commuting and work-related stress can contribute to stiffness and discomfort. I look at how your joints, muscles, posture and daily habits may be interacting instead of assuming that every case needs the same adjustment.

Pregnancy-related musculoskeletal discomfort

Pregnancy changes how weight is distributed through the body and can place different demands on the lower back and pelvis. When assessing pregnancy-related back pain, I take the stage of pregnancy, symptoms, health history and comfort with different positions into account.

Chiropractic care does not replace antenatal care from your obstetrician or other medical professional. If symptoms fall outside my scope, I will recommend the appropriate medical assessment.

Postnatal return to movement

After childbirth, the body may still be adapting while a mother is feeding, carrying and caring for her baby. Sleep disruption and repetitive positions can add further physical strain. Depending on the assessment, support may involve chiropractic care, soft-tissue therapy, movement guidance, pelvic floor therapy or referral to another healthcare professional.

Mothers lifting and carrying children

Parents often repeat the same movements throughout the day: lifting a baby from a cot, carrying a child on one side, bending over a changing table or feeding in the same position. Sometimes the painful area is only one part of the pattern. I want to understand what you repeatedly ask your body to do before deciding how to manage it.

Returning to exercise

As a former fitness competitor and someone who continues to value strength and movement, I understand that many women do not simply want to be told to rest. They want to return to training safely and confidently. The goal is not to promise that one treatment will prevent every injury, but to identify relevant restrictions, rebuild movement gradually and recognise when rehabilitation or further investigation is needed.

Perimenopause, menopause and active ageing

I have a particular interest in helping women remain active as they move through midlife and beyond. Chiropractic does not treat menopause or hormonal conditions. It may, however, form one part of a broader approach to musculoskeletal comfort, mobility and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Conditions Dr Jenny Commonly Assesses

I commonly assess women presenting with the following musculoskeletal concerns. These links provide more detailed information about each condition, so I will not repeat the full explanations here:

These symptoms can have different causes, and not every cause is suitable for chiropractic care. Sudden weakness, significant trauma, fever, unexplained weight loss, loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle numbness, chest pain or other concerning symptoms require prompt medical assessment.

What Makes Dr. Jenny’s Approach Different?

More than 15 years of clinical experience

I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in the United States and later practised in Hong Kong before moving to Singapore. Experience does not mean assuming I have seen everything. It means knowing that two patients with similar pain may still need very different care.

Care informed by real life

I am a chiropractor, mother, clinic owner, entrepreneur and former fitness competitor. I understand what it is like to balance work, family, health and the expectations women often place on themselves.

That does not allow me to presume that my experience is the same as yours. It helps me ask better questions and understand why a plan has to work within your actual life—not an ideal routine that you cannot sustain.

Communication in English and Mandarin

Patients can consult me in English or Mandarin. Being able to describe pain and concerns in the language that feels most natural can make the assessment clearer and more comfortable.

Team-based care

I do not believe every problem should be treated with the same tool. At Re Singapore, chiropractic care can be supported by manual and soft-tissue therapy from our wider clinic team, including our experienced therapist, Ms Diana.

Depending on the examination findings, an individual plan may include movement guidance, home exercises, sports massage, spinal decompression or dry needling. When another practitioner or medical investigation is more appropriate, we will explain that as well.

Education beyond the treatment room

I have spent many years sharing health information through community talks, workshops and online content. My YouTube channel and podcast have also allowed me to speak with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds about health, psychology, entrepreneurship and life in Singapore.

I believe patients make better decisions when they understand their options. My job is not only to perform treatment; it is also to explain what I find, what chiropractic may realistically help with, and what it cannot do.

One Assessment, Different Possible Approaches

Not every patient receives every treatment. Your care should be selected according to the examination findings, your preferences and what is clinically appropriate.

Possible approaches may include:

Sometimes the best outcome of an assessment is discovering that chiropractic is not the right starting point. If your symptoms suggest a condition requiring medical management, medication, specialist investigation or emergency care, I will advise you accordingly.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

1. Listen

We begin with your symptoms, health history, daily activities and goals. I may ask about your work, exercise, sleep, previous injuries, pregnancy or postnatal history when relevant. You only need to share information that is clinically necessary, and you are welcome to ask why a question is being asked.

2. Assess

The assessment may include posture, movement, joint mobility, muscle tension and relevant orthopaedic or neurological checks. I will explain what I am doing, and you can tell me if any position or examination procedure makes you uncomfortable.

3. Explain

I will explain what the findings may mean in plain language. Where appropriate, I will discuss whether chiropractic care, another service within our clinic, further imaging or outside referral should be considered.

4. Plan

If care is suitable, we will discuss an individual plan. I do not believe everyone needs the same technique, the same number of visits or every service available in the clinic. We reassess according to how you respond.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a female chiropractor near me in Singapore?

Start by checking the chiropractor’s education, clinical experience, location and approach—not only whether the practitioner is female. Re Singapore is at 116 Lavender Street #01-02, near Lavender MRT. I consult in English and Mandarin, and appointments with me can be requested through WhatsApp.

Is a female chiropractor better for women?

Not automatically. Some women feel more comfortable with a female practitioner, particularly when discussing pregnancy, postnatal changes or sensitive concerns. However, clinical education, experience, communication and an appropriate approach to your condition matter more than gender alone.

How do I choose the best female chiropractor in Singapore for me?

There is no single chiropractor who is “best” for every patient. Look at where the chiropractor trained, how long they have practised, whether they explain the limits of chiropractic care, and whether you feel heard and comfortable. You should also ask what happens if your problem needs imaging, rehabilitation or medical referral instead of chiropractic treatment.

Can I request only a female practitioner?

Yes. Please make your preference clear when booking so our team can arrange your appointment with me where availability allows. You may also tell us if you have any cultural, religious or privacy considerations that would help you feel more comfortable.

Can I see a chiropractor during pregnancy?

Some pregnant women seek chiropractic assessment for musculoskeletal discomfort such as back or pelvic pain. Suitability depends on your health history, stage of pregnancy and symptoms. Chiropractic care does not replace antenatal or obstetric care, and medical clearance or referral may be appropriate in some situations.

When can I receive chiropractic care after giving birth?

There is no single timeline that applies to every woman. The type of delivery, healing, complications, current symptoms and medical advice all matter. After a Caesarean section, complicated delivery or significant postpartum symptoms, speak with your obstetric or medical team before beginning hands-on care.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. If any examination or treatment position feels uncomfortable, please tell me. I can explain the purpose of the position and adapt the assessment where possible.

Will I need to undress during the examination?

Not routinely. Most assessments can be performed while you remain appropriately clothed. If access to an area is clinically necessary, I will explain why and ask for your consent. You can decline or request an alternative at any time.

How much does a female chiropractor cost in Singapore?

At Re Singapore, a first visit is SGD 90–180 and a follow-up is SGD 88–120, depending on the appointment and services provided. If an X-ray is clinically relevant, it may cost SGD 45–250. Imaging is not automatically required for every patient.

Can a female chiropractor assess sciatica?

Yes, I assess patients with symptoms commonly described as sciatica, but radiating leg pain can arise from different structures and conditions. The purpose of the assessment is to determine whether the presentation appears suitable for conservative care or requires imaging or medical referral. You can read our detailed sciatica assessment and treatment guide.

What happens if chiropractic care is unsuitable for me?

I will explain my concerns and recommend an appropriate next step. That may mean seeing a GP, physiotherapist, orthopaedic specialist or another healthcare professional, or obtaining imaging or urgent medical assessment. A responsible consultation should help you choose the right direction even when chiropractic treatment is not recommended.
